Props to Teddy Atlas as commentator for NBC Olympic Boxing. His insight throughout the broadcast was outstanding.

More importantly, his take on the state of US Olympic Boxing is right on the money. I hope it resonates throughout the US Olympic Committee. As a proud supporter of US Boxing, I desperately miss performances such as that provided by our 1976 Montreal team. It's humiliating and embarrassing to see the noticeable steady decline of our teams since then.

As Mr. Atlas says, the USOC must make a decision to encourage our boxers to adapt their styles to the Olympic scoring system. Otherwise, we are doomed to more decades of frustration watching talented American boxers try to compete in contests for which they are clearly not trained.

Honestly for the benefit of the boxers pro careers it is probably good that they don't adapt to the pitty pat BS scoring system that they have in the Olympics.
